Tayron (TYE-ron) Luis Guerrero...this past offseason, worked out with and spoke to group of 51 Venezuelan prospects taking part in Major League Baseball International Prospect showcase.

2017

Combined on a 3-4 record and 4.46 ERA (36.1 ip/18 er) between Single-A Jupiter (4 games), Double-A Jacksonville (17 games), and Triple-A New Orleans (13 games)... Began year with Jacksonville and struck out season-high three batters on April 16. Repeated feat twice more; April 23 at Birmingham and May 22 vs. Tampa... Posted an 8.10 ERA (3.1/3) with six strikeouts in five appearances before going on seven-day disabled list on April 29 with a right foot contusion...Made four rehab appearances with Jupiter from May 18-28, going 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA (5.0/2) and seven strikeouts. Returned to Jacksonville on May 30... After allowing three runs combined in first three appearances back with Jumbo Shrimp, recorded a 9.2-inning scoreless streak from June 11-July 17. Struck out 14 batters and walked five over nine-game stretch... Selected to represent native Colombia and Marlins' organization in 2017 Futures Game at Marlins Park. Tossed 0.2 scoreless innings in 7-6 World loss to USA... Promoted to New Orleans on July 21 and finished season with Baby Cakes... Allowed season-high four runs (two earned) on July 25 at Fresno, taking loss after throwing 1.0 inning (2 h, bb)... 2016

Began campaign in Padres organization prior to finishing season at Double-A Jacksonville in Miami's system...Opened season at Triple-A El Paso, making 11 appearances with no record and 3.60 ERA (10.0 ip/4 er)... Allowed runs in only one of first 10 appearances, surrendering four to Lehigh Valley on May 3... Did not allow a run in first seven appearances of season, spanning total of 7.2 innings... Recalled by San Diego on May 15 and made Major League debut on May 17 vs. San Francisco... In debut, tossed 2.0 innings and retired first batter faced, Buster Posey, on a flyout to right field... Made only one appearances with Padres before being optioned back to El Paso on May 18... Came on in relief twice before being transferred to Double-A San Antonio. Allowed five runs (four earned) on five hits over 2.0 innings... In 19 games with Missions, went 0-3 with 4.94 ERA (23.2/13)... Traded to Miami with RHP Andrew Cashner and RHP Colin Rea on July 29 and reported to Jacksonville... Allowed just three earned runs in 14.0 innings (1.93 ERA) with Suns, going 1-1 with four saves in four chances. 

2015

Split the season between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso, going a combined 1-5 with a 3.05 ERA (19 ER, 56.0 IP) and 61 strikeouts against 31 walks while holding opponents to a .199 average over 48 relief appearances, also recording 14 saves in 16 opportunities....Began the season with San Antonio, going 1-5 with a 2.76 ERA (13 ER, 42.1 IP), 46 strikeouts against 20 walks and a .205 opponents average allowed to go along with 13 saves in 15 opportunities for the Missions....Named a Texas League Mid-Season All-Star for San Antonio....Promoted to El Paso on 8/7, spending the remainder of the season with the Chihuahuas....Following the season, pitched in 10 games for Tigres de Aragua of the Venezuelan Winter League, posting a 6.75 (7 ER, 9.1 IP) with seven strikeouts against four walks.

2014

Began the season with Single-A Fort Wayne, going 6-1 with a 1.00 ERA (4 ER, 36.0 IP) and 42 strikeouts against 12 walks in 25 relief outings for the TinCaps before appearing in 14 games for Single-A Lake Elsinore...Combined to go 6-1 with a 1.45 ERA (8 ER, 49.2 IP) and 56 strikeouts against 20 walks in 39 relief outings...Selected to represent the World Team at the 2014 Futures Game at Target Field...Also named a Midwest League mid-season All-Star...Following the season, participated in the Arizona Fall League with four games for Surprise…named an Arizona Fall League Rising Star.
