Peter R. Mooney...attended the University of South Carolina (2011) and Palm Beach Community College (2009-10)...won Rawlings NJCAA National Gold Glove (shortstop) in 2009 and 2010...earned FCCAA All-Southern Conference first-team honors as a freshman at PBCC...older brother Michael (born 1988) was an infielder for the University of Florida and drafted by Baltimore in 23rd round of 2009 First-Year Player Draft ...younger brother Marcus (born 1994) also played shortstop at PBCC (2013) before moving on to South Carolina (2014-16); was a 10th round pick by Atlanta in 2016 and spent 2017 with Single-A Rome.

Started 93 games at shortstop for Triple-A New Orleans, while also making 11 starts at second base and six at third base...Tied single-season career high with four home runs, and set new career highs with 34 RBI, 18 doubles, and seven sacrifice hits...Had 10 RBI each in July and August, one short of his career high for any month (11 in August 2011).
