Indeed it is. Koehler is in "Sharknado 2: The Second One." The movie stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid.
Koehler wasn't even aware he was in the movie until it aired, and he received a text message from a teammate.
"Actually, it was Dan Jennings who sent me the text," Koehler said. "I was sitting home, watching something totally unrelated on television that night. I got a text that was like, 'Hey, you just gave up a home run in Sharknado.' Then all of a sudden, my Twitter feed was going [crazy]."
As expected, the responses on Twitter were snarky.
"It was like, 'I hope you pitch better than you did in Sharknado,'" Koehler said. "I did end up seeing the clip."
Athletes have historically been part of movies. Koehler never thought his movie debut would be a cult-following shark movie.
"I thought if I was ever going to be in a movie, it wasn't necessarily going to be in Sharknado: The Second One," the right-hander said. "It was one of those movies where I was like, 'I can't watch this. I can't watch it.' Then, two hours later, you're like, 'They just killed a shark with a chainsaw!'"
