Marisnick down to Triple-A; Lucas heading back up

MIAMI -- The Marlins optioned Jake Marisnick back to Triple-A New Orleans following Tuesday night's 3-0 win over the Nationals. Infielder Ed Lucas is expected to rejoin the team in time for Wednesday's day game at Marlins Park.

Lucas knocked six hits in his eight-game stint (.222) with the Zephyrs that began after the Marlins sent him down on July 20 to make room for infielder Jordany Valdespin.

In 51 games with the Marlins this season, Lucas' glove has proven to be a valuable asset, as he has split time covering second base and shortstop. Meanwhile, he's posted a .239 average and a .276 on-base percentage.

Marisnick, who was recalled on Monday, appeared as a pinch-hitter and struck out swinging during the sixth inning of Monday night's 7-6 comeback win over the Nationals.
