McGehee has All-Star numbers, needs votes

MIAMI -- The numbers make the argument.

Casey McGehee paces National League third basemen in RBIs (48), batting average (.309), on-base percentage (.374) and fielding percentage (.981).

What the Marlins' third baseman lacks is votes to represent the NL in the All-Star Game.

Milwaukee's Aramis Ramirez led the most recent fan voting. Todd Frazier of the Reds has also enjoyed a strong season, belting 17 homers and driving in 46 runs.

McGehee and right fielder Giancarlo Stanton, fourth on the latest list, are the position players who have made the strongest cases to represent Miami.

Stanton leads the NL in homers (21) and RBIs (60), but is not currently among the top three vote-getters for starting spots.

Fans can cast their votes for starters at -- online or on a mobile device -- using the 2014 All-Star Game Ballot Sponsored by Experian until Thursday, July 3, at 11:59 p.m. ET. The 2014 All-Star Game will be played at Target Field on Tuesday, July 15 on FOX.
