The right-hander, who has appeared in 39 games this year, likely won't be available in this series against the Athletics.
To fortify the bullpen, the Marlins have recalled another fresh arm from the Minor Leagues, this time Sam Dyson from Triple-A New Orleans. Dyson was called up earlier this month when starter Nathan Eovaldi went on the paternity list. In a single outing, he threw 1 1/3 innings and recorded his first big league win against the Cubs. He was optioned back to New Orleans following the game.
Dyson, ranked as the Marlins' No. 13 prospect, is the second pitcher called up in as many days, and he will be taking the spot of Brian Flynn, who returned to New Orleans after Friday's game. Flynn, the club's No. 6-ranked prospect, joined the team right before the opener against the A's and immediately threw three innings in relief of starter Anthony DeSclafani.
