PHILADELPHIA -- Right-handed pitcher Domingo German will represent the Marlins' organization in the 2014 All-Star Futures Game. German is one of nine representatives from the Dominican Republic playing for the World Team, which features players from eight different countries and territories.
Through 15 starts at Class A Greensboro this season, German is 7-2 with a 2.28 ERA and 76 strikeouts compared to just 14 walks in 83 innings.
The 21-year-old mixes a 91-94 mph fastball, changeup and slider into his three-pitch repertoire. According to MLB.com's scouting report, German "might be a step or two behind the Marlins' arms that have been generating buzz at the upper levels of the Minors and in the big leagues, but he should be snapping at their heels soon."
The 16th annual SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game will take place at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 13, at Target Field in Minneapolis, and it can be seen live on MLB.com and MLB Network, and followed live on MLB.com's Gameday. In addition, XM Radio will broadcast play-by-play coverage of the event live on MLB Network Radio XM 89 and Sirius channel 209. MLB.com will also provide complete coverage before, during and after the game.
