MIAMI -The Miami Marlins, who currently own the best home record in the Majors, begin their fifth homestand of the 2014 campaign on Friday, May 30, with a three-game, weekend series against the NL East-leading Atlanta Braves. Then, the Marlins begin the Citrus Series presented by the Florida Department of Transportation, with a brief two-game set against their in-state foes, the Tampa Bay Rays, on Monday, June 2. The Marlins return home following a brief two-game trip to Washington, where they swept the series.
The Marlins open the homestand on a Friday, which means fans can head to the Budweiser Bow Tie Bar to enjoy reduced priced $4 domestic draft beers from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Then on Saturday, fans can head to the West Plaza following the game as six-time Grammy-nominated rapper/songwriter B.o.B will perform, marking the second Saturday Spectacular summer concert. The concert is powered by South Florida Ford.
Also, on Saturday, the Marlins are celebrating Fellowship Day at Marlins Park, where fans are invited to the West Plaza for an exclusive pregame event hosted by team chaplain, Chris Lane. Players will give their testimonials and discuss their devotion to faith and community. The following day, the Marlins will celebrate their 8th annual Jewish Heritage Day. Special Event packages include one (1) Baseline Reserved ticket in one of the Jewish Heritage Day sections and an exclusive Marlins Yarmulke. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Jewish education in South Florida. Packages are only $20.
The homestand features two giveaways, on Sunday, June 1 and Monday, June 2. All fans attending Sunday's game will receive a Miami Marlins Recyclable Tote Bag courtesy of MLB Network. On June 2, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Marlins Drawstring Bag courtesy of the Florida Department of Transportation.
