Marlins to host Phillies, Tigers during final Regular Season homestand

MIAMI - The Miami Marlins will close the regular season with a six game homestand against the Philadelphia Phillies starting September 23 through September 25 and interleague play against the Detroit Tigers from September 27 through September 29. This homestand will feature several great promotions, Marlins 2014 magnetic schedule giveaway, Hispanic Heritage Night celebration with Fito Blanko y Gocho and Closing Day activities/post-game ceremony on Sunday, September 29th.

Monday, September 23rd at 7:10 p.m. the Marlins start their three-game series against the Phillies. As part of South Florida Heroes Mondays presented by Outback Steakhouse, military servicemen and women, veterans, police officers, firefighters and all local first responders with proper I.D. can claim free tickets at Marlins Park north ticket office. Fans can also take advantage of the All You Can Eat Seat Special and can purchase tickets in Legends Gold for $32 or Legends Silver for $22, which includes a ticket and "All You Can Eat" Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi soft drinks, and Aquafina water.

 

Tuesday, September 24th is game two of the three-game series against the Phillies. Fans can take advantage of the Miami Herald Half Price Tuesday offer and get half priced tickets in Legends Silver, Baseline Reserved, Bullpen Reserved and Home Run Porch on any Tuesday home game in 2013. Offer is available online at marlins.com and at the Marlins Park Ticket Office.

The last game against the Phillies on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:10 p.m. is Alopecia Areata Awareness Night. Tickets purchased through the marlins.com/specialevents page will benefit the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. In addition to the evening, it's Kids Eat Free Wednesday Nights, kids 12 and under are able to redeem a voucher for a free meal during the game. Wednesdays are also Chevron "Crazy 8's" when fans can get $8 Home Run Porch tickets or $18 Home Plate Box tickets to any Wednesday home game in 2013 with the purchase of eight (8) gallons of gas or more from any South Florida Chevron station. When filling up with gas, fans can scan the QR at participating Chevron stations to receive a coupon code for specially priced Marlins tickets. The coupon code must be entered when purchasing tickets for any 2013 Wednesday Marlins home games at Marlins.com/Chevron. After an off day the Marlins are back for the last series of the season on Friday, September 27th when they take on the Phillies at 7:10 p.m. This Friday's home game is Fireworks Friday presented by MetLife, where fans can enjoy a Fireworks Show over Marlins Park from the comfort of their seats immediately after the game. On Fridays, fans can purchase the Sir Pizza 4-Pack, which includes four (4) tickets, four (4) personal Sir Pizzas and four (4) Pepsi soft drinks, all for $60 and available on every Friday night home game.

Saturday, September 28th is game two of the three-game series against the Phillies with a post-game concert on the West Plaza featuring Fito Blank y Gocho, powered by South Florida Ford. The concert is part of Saturday Spectaculars and will feature pregame entertainment on the West Plaza from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. and an autograph session with a Marlins player inside the New Era Team Store from 6:00 to 6:20 P.M. The All-You-Can-Eat Seats will also be available on Saturday Spectaculars, for just $27 in Vista Reserved or $37 in Legends Silver. Menu items will include unlimited Kayem Beef Franks, Peanuts, Popcorn, Nachos, Pepsi soft drinks, and Aquafina water. 

On September 29th at 1:10 P.M. is closing day at Marlins Park as the Marlins end the season and three game series against the Tigers. Fans are invited to celebrate the last Family Sunday of 2013 and will receive a 2014 Magnet Schedule courtesy of Fox Sports Florida. Pregame fun will feature entertainment with Radio Disney AM 990, DJ Petey and the Marlins Energy Team. During Snapshot Sunday on the Promenade Level outside of Section 18, fans can take photos with a Marlins player from 12 p.m. to 12:20 p.m. Post-game entertainment will include Diamond Dash where all kids 12 and under can run the bases. JACOB'S RIDE: On Tuesday, September 24, Jacob Landis, 24, will complete his 175 day, 11,000 mile bicycle journey to every Major League Ballpark in the country to raise awareness about the benefits of cochlear implants. Jacob's Ride began on April 3rd in Jacob's hometown of Annapolis, MD. Deaf by age 10, Jacob received a cochlear implant allowing him to be fully functional in the hearing world. Combining his love of cycling and baseball with a desire to help others, Jacob's goal is to raise $1 million for others who could benefit from a cochlear implant but cannot afford one. At 5:30pm Jacob will ride his bike through the finish line at Marlins Park (501 Marlins Way, Miami, FL) on West Plaza. Following his arrival, there will be a press conference and Jacob will be available for media along with Dr. Ostrower and Dr. Fred Telischi, Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology, the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Marlins Foundation will also be on hand to answer questions. At 6:50pm Jacob will throw the ceremonial first pitch of the game and be introduced on field.

LIVE LIKE BELLA: Raymond Rodriguez, Bella's father, will visit Marlins Park on September 24 during the Marlins game against the Phillies. Raymond has given 100 tickets to local youth to watch the game on Tuesday and support the Live Like Bella initiative, which focuses on raising funds for Research for Pediatric Cancer. Raymond will be available for interviews during the game. STATE FARM SAFETY PATROL TRUCK DISPLAY: Prior to the 9/27-9/29 Marlins vs. Tigers games, Marlins fans will have the opportunity to stop by the State Farm display located on the West Plaza. The State Farm Safety Patrol Truck will be on-site distributing giveaways and collateral informing fans of the free roadway assistance program available to Florida drivers.

50-50 RAFFLE: Every Saturday and Sunday home game the Marlins Foundation partners with local non-profit organizations to host the 50/50 Raffle. The 50/50 Raffle Program provides fans the opportunity to win 50% of the proceeds, with the other half of the proceeds benefitting the guest non-profit organization. From the time the gates open until the end of the 6th inning tickets can be purchased for a suggested donation of three for $5, ten for $10, and 40 for $20, at Raffle Headquarters Section 15 and from volunteers throughout the ballpark. The National Police Athletics/Activities Leagues, Inc. exists to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities and resources to PAL Chapters.

Snapshot Sunday: On every Family Sunday this season, fans were able to have their photograph taken with a Marlins player. For the closing day, there will be an opportunity for fans to have a group photo with three Marlins players. Fans are reminded to bring their own camera. Snapshot Sunday is located on the Promenade Level in Section 18 from 12:00 P.M. to 12:20 P.M. 

Diamond Dash: After every Marlins Family Sunday, kids 12 and under get to run the bases on the field in the Marlins Diamond Dash. We ask that children do not slide at any base or Home Plate for their own safety. Billy's Bunch kids club members can present their 2012 membership card in order to move up to the Diamond Dash Fast Lane.

CLOSING DAY CEREMONY: Post-game ceremony on the field immediately after the game with players throwing t-shirts on the field and post-game interviews on the field.

MARLINS RADIO NETWORK: All 162 regular season games will be broadcast on 790 The Ticket and the Marlins Radio Network in English and on WAQI 710 AM in Spanish. The Marlins Radio Network consists of: WSWN 900 AM in Belle Glade, WELE 1380 AM in Daytona Beach, WEFL 760 AM in West Palm Beach, WFFG 1300 AM in Marathon, WKWF 1600 AM in Key West, WSTU 1450 AM in Stuart, WWCN 770 AM Fort Myers/Naples.

CELEBRATION CLUB: Marlins fans can display a personalized message on Marlins Vision for the home crowd to see for a donation to the Marlins Foundation. Personalized messages will be shown at the end of the 2nd inning of every Marlins home game. Messages will run for the first 12 people who call the Marlins office to make a reservation or sign up at www.marlins.com/celebrationclub. The cost is $50.00 per message, with all proceeds benefiting the Marlins Foundation.
