CHICAGO -- Miami starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi will throw a 60-70 pitch rehab start with Class A Jupiter on Saturday. It will be his first start since he was placed on the 60-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on March 24.
Eovaldi joins three other Marlins who are on rehab assignments with the Hammerheads. Joe Mahoney didn't start on Thursday because of a sore hamstring, and he will take the next couple days off before resuming activity. Logan Morrison and Casey Kotchman are still on track with their rehab schedules.
Marlins manager Mike Redmond joked that Jupiter has a formidable squad at the moment.
"They're pretty good," Redmond said. "They're loaded over there."
