Ed Lucas

Ed Lucas begins his second campaign as Miami's administrative coach and video replay coordinator following a 13-year professional baseball career.


Appeared at different levels with Kansas City, Atlanta, Angels, Miami, Texas, Arizona, and Seattle over career. 
In only two MLB seasons, both with Miami, hit .255 (135x530) with five home runs and 37 RBI in 163 games. Appeared at first base (six games), second base (20), third base (4), shortstop (19), left field (4) and right field (3).
Made Major League debut with Miami on May 30, 2013 vs. Tampa Bay as defensive replacement at shortstop. 
Hit game-winning home run on September 18 at Philadelphia, becoming just fifth Marlins rookie (sixth time) in Club history to connect for a game-winning home run in extra innings. - Stats LLC
Selected by Kansas City in eighth round of 2004 draft. 


Edward Lee Lucas...married to Holly...they have a son, Rhodes, born in September of 2013...graduated from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Fla. in 2000...graduated from Dartmouth College in 2004...was named 2004 Ivy League Player of the Year...was honored as 2004 Alfred E. Watson Award winner as most outstanding athlete at Dartmouth...named All-Ivy League three times and was 2004 first team All-New England selection.
